Anzor (Anri) is a 28-year-old young man residing in Ambrolauri Municipality, Lukhumi Valley, in the village of Abari. Two years ago, he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey in the field of tourism services, curating tours in the picturesque Lukhumi Valley. Anri serves as a guide, offering tourists a variety of experiences, including hiking, trekking, educational excursions, horse riding, and off-road adventures. His profound love for the beauty of his homeland is evident, and he passionately shares this love with the tourists he guides.
Additionally, Anri is a honey producer, providing tourists with access to ecologically clean "Lukhuni honey" for those interested in exploring local products.
Love is Contagious
"Almost the entire Racha has been depopulated, with young people leaving for the larger cities of Georgia or abroad for study or work. I've pondered this many times, but when I envision my valley replaced by iron-concrete, noisy, airless cities, it feels like I'm suffocating. Living in the village is not easy; it requires hard work, dealing with problems, and adjusting to minimal comfort. Especially when you are young, you desire fun, financial independence, and many other things, which is why many choose to leave.
I am not criticizing anyone...
I chose my own path! The elements that filled my childhood with joy—the distinctive ethnographic monuments in the valley, the timeless hum of the centuries-old water millstone, Sikh houses adorned with Racha ornaments, the captivating landscape, the ancient Monastery of Racha "Mechureti," archaeological artifacts now curated in the Alyosha Japaridze Museum of Local Lore, horses, exploration, and the discovery of new paths—I molded them into a wellspring of inspiration and the foundation for a business idea.
I strive to develop myself by attending various training programs. As part of the project "Development of a complex ecotourism product in the micro-zones of Khvanchkar and Tvishi," I participated in follow-up training. It was during these sessions that I realized hiking and horseback riding tours are better suited for my valley. This way, I contribute to preserving the environment and offer more exotic adventures to tourists.
Participating in the "Produce Georgia" grant project served the purpose of showing guests how we care for nature and ecology. By winning the grant, I can now offer fully equipped and standardized riding tours. No one leaves Lukhun valley dissatisfied! I am confident that those who visit once will return because my love for this valley is contagious!"
